Lightweight and comfortable

Bought these a week ago for a very reasonable price. The instructions provided are very clear, and I soon was able to fit the Buds without any trouble. The sound, though not His more than acceptable, but don't expect booming bass. The bonus for me is that they do not go into the inner ear, but remain in the outer part, so are very comfortable and easy to wear. They have never fallen as I move around. Blue tooth connection is very easy. All in all an excellent product.

Great idea, still needs refining

Bought these when they first launched, they are comfortable to wear and the sound quality is excellent. However, the software needs refining as they have a tendency to stop playing if you for example sneeze, I also found whilst they would be ideal when out riding my bike given the design lets you hear ambient noises around you, they would stop playing due to wind noise. I still feel there is very good potential with these as they just need a few minor issues addressed.

So, the USP of these ear buds is that you can hear the outside world as well as what is playing on the headphones. And that works very well. Audio quality isn't bad but compared to say my Samsung Galaxy Buds2, Sony WH-1000XM4s or Shure SE425s not so much - but these are in a different price bracket, and wasn't the reason to get them, I like going out and hearing what’s going on outside my headphones. There it sort of stops - whatever idiots designed the interface and the clip on system really ought to try another career - circus clown anyone? Control of the playback device is managed by tapping on the buds. There are two or four switches available: double tap or triple tap left and or right – and these can be assigned operations, like pause, next track, up volume down volume etc etc. Of course that means remembering remember which ear does what, three on the left up volume three on the right down or is that two on the left or…? So, four, but much more likely two, operators; but really is that the best you could do? Not a swipe? Not a swipe and tap? And I have now discovered that if happen to double tap my teeth it will trigger the double tap switch and in default mode that pauses the track (I'm sorry but sometimes I tap my teeth to the music - so sue me) and you double tap to start up again. But, then, well, that *maybe* slightly harsh, they are made to a price and a possible answer is they don't have the electronics to handle much more (although I find it hard to believe). The real irritation is the clips that go inside the top ridge of your ear. Now these NEED to work otherwise they fall out of your ear, and hey, guess what, they fall out of your ear. Marshall years back had a set of earphones that clipped on your ear - a very similar concept to what we have here, but these were unashamedly clip on ear, they had a rubber lug that went into the top crease of your ear and the bottom jammed (comfortably!!) into the bottom, these buds didn't go anywhere. The Sony top clips on the other hand, are way, way to soft and floppy, so despite picking the size of clip to best fit your ear the, buds just wobble in place because the top clip bends too easily. My guess is Sony will pitch 'stiffer' addon clips to stop this - and if they don't the third party manufacturers will probably catch on - fingers crossed. All in all a qualified success. And yes, you are right, I do have a lot of headphones.

I purchased the linkbuds over 1 year ago and have been very pleased with them except after about a month the left earbud would not work unless the earbud was pressed in the case for a few seconds before removing the earbud.

Always Broken

These LinkBuds are the best and worst earphones I have even purchased. When they work they are perfect, light easily fit in my ear and the app is stable and good. But on my second pair as they keep breaking. Lots of distortion in the left ear .....neither Amazon or Sony care much about getting these replaced or repaired quickly. The latest are likely to be back at Sony for a month....no apology no real explanation.....not sure I will ever buy Sony again

The description and fanfare for these LinkBuds do not match the reality. They look good out of the box but are very difficult to fit snuggly in the ear! The amount of times I had to pick them off the floor after they had fallen out of my ear is beyond counting. Having finally got to the point where they now rarely fall out the actual sound quality is not good! The feature that allows you to hear surrounding sound while listening to music actually is a terrible distraction and can lead to the surrounding sounds drown out the actual music particularly on the underground trains. I cannot express how dissapointed I am with this product but of course I am unable to return them because in the view of Sony they are not faulty ! It is £150 wasted.

Le cuffie mi sono state regalate per il compleanno, a dicembre. A febbraio la sinistra ha smesso di funzionare ed è stata riparata in garanzia.. Spero non succeda più. L’audio di per se è ottimo, speravo fossero più comode invece sono parecchio grandi e dopo mezz’ora si fa fatica a tenerle addosso. La custodia ha una forma poco ergonomica che la rende difficile da aprire con una mano. Tutto sommato non sono malaccio ma hanno un po’ deluso le aspettative.

Lo que más me gusta es su comodidad, no molestan, y bastante buen sonido. También El poder tener conectados a la vez el portátil y el móvil. No tienen buen aislamiento del exterior pero es que para eso hay que buscar otro tipo de auriculares. Batería normal, no excesiva

I have been using my Linkbuds for about a month now. I really like them. I knew what I was buying, a set of buds that allowed me to hear what was going on around me. I had heard people complaining about the lack of bass! Earphones and buds as a rule accentuate the bass these days. I prefer a more natural reproduction that is more accurate to the album as mixed and I get this with the Linkbuds with a reasonable sound stage. I would recommend them if you know what they are designed for.

La batería dura poco mas de una hora y la base es lenta para cargarlos. Sonido suena bien, Me arrepiento totalmente de esta compra. Ademas se caen muy fácil no se ajustan bien a las orejas y con el calor despues de un rato se ablanda el soporte y se caen aun mas fácil

Sono molto soddisfatto del prodotto, soprattutto perché permettono di non isolarsi dal contesto. Le conversazioni sono sempre chiare, l'ascolto di musica è molto soddisfacente considerando la filosofia costruttiva adottata. Completa la possibilità di personalizzazione tramite app proprietaria. Da efficentare a mio avviso la durata della batteria che difficilmente supera le 3 ore e mezza di ascolto musicale continuato.

Bellissime ma non funzionano

Mal diseño, se salen de la oreja.

Lo he probado con las diferentes gomas y con todas se me salen de las orejas. tienen un problema de diseño que no permite mantenerse en la oreja, solo como mover la mandíbula es suficiente para que se salgan en poco tiempo. También hacen un poco de daño en la parte interior del oído con el aro debido a que es demasiado rígido. Deberían repensar el diseño es una buena idea pero no funciona en este. Invertí el dinero y no los puedo usar porque siempre que me los pongo se caen.

il prodotto si presenta in un'ottima confezione e la funzionaità delle cuffie risulta in linea con la tipologia di prodotto. lo scopo del prodotto è garantire una totale trasparenza verso l'esterno ed in questo risulta idoneo e funzionale. ottime le possibilità di configurazione, particolarmente interessante l'opzione di collegamento a due dispositivi contemporaneamente. non adatto se si ricercano funzionalità premium, nel caso rivolgersi ad altri prodotti della gamma, ma utilissimo e leggerissimo per fruizione di contenuti quotidiani. leggermente macchinoso il sistema di fissaggio, ma una volta famigliarizzato con lo stesso, garantisce una tenuta notevolissima.

Auriculares Sony LinkBuds S buen sonido, se colocan bien son cómodos, llevo cuatro días con ellos y empiezan a dar problemas, los he sacado del cargador y no se emparejan con el movil lo he tenido que hacer manual, a los 10 minutos el izquierdo se ha parado otra vez a activarlo manualmente, y parece ser que a Sony no le gustan las criticas, pues mi anterior reseña la han rechazado en la que criticaba la app porque es un poco liosa, seguro que al que la ha diseñado y a un experto en sonido que sepa todas las tecnicidades y términos en inglés les resulta sencilla pero al resto de personas no, y lo que a mí no me gusta que anuncien el sonido 360 y que si quieres disfrutar de él que tengas que pagar mensualidades, otra reseña a la papelera.

Great sound and the ability to hear the outside world make these perfect for commuting for me (no more missing train announcements etc) but, even with the biggest loops on, they keep falling out of my ears...

I bought the Linkbuds knowing that they will have audio limitations, however they are very good at what they were designed for. The negative is the terrible connectivity. They suffer from a high signal dropout rate, no better than a pair of generic Bluetooth in-ears from Banggood for £100 less.

Comfortable fit but poor performance

Bought the open ring design specifically for conference call use and not wanting noise blocking or noise cancelling eaebuds. Very comfortable for all day wear but poor microphones, terrible Bluetooth range and relatively short battery life means I went them back. Audio quality is good especially for voice calls as I wanted, and OK for music (bit base light obviously due to open design) but poor microphones mean poor audio for others on calls. Bluetooth range is dire - can't leave the room that has the phone in without drop out or losing call completely.

Easy to use

Compré los auriculares para llevarlos en las vacaciones a la playa el dia anterior a irme. Al principio fue un poco engorroso el instalar y configurar la aplicación en el teléfono pero después de eso todo fue fluido. El sonido es muy bueno, permite escuchar el entorno aunque eso en ocasiones sea perjudicial porque no se pueden evitar ruidos molestos aunque se suba el volumen al máximo. Los ajustes de sonido son buenos, especialmente el ecualizador gráfico que permite una flexibilidad extra para controlar el sonido, además del ajuste de graves que permite dar un refuerzo en la música que ayuda bastante. Lo malo que encontré es la sujeción en la oreja, quizás porque mis orejas son grandes, pero con el accesorio mas grande no logro que se quede en el lugar, por lo que si me muevo mucho se me caen. Quizás alguien con las orejas mas pequeñas no tenga este problema, pero para mi ha sido una decepción. Los recomiendo por su calidad de sonido, duración de batería, practicidad y tamaño.

Ss a matter of fact, I bought Linkbuds S, not Linkbuds. However, Linkbuds S was not available in the product subscription menu at the moment when I wanted to subscribe. So far, I am happy with my product. I bought this product not only for casual use, but also during sleep as it is the tiniest hifi in the market. I have only to concerns: 1) The touch control functions even when in contact with other things than only finger, e.g. my pillow while sleeping. Fingerprint of the user could be an option to be used to active this function. 2) I received some buzzy sound while listening to a high volume electric guitar demonstration video. Otherwise, I am happy with my earbuds.

These are great little ear buds except the Bluetooth connectivity is terrible. I have my Sony Xperia 1 ii phone in my breast pocket and the music drops out if I turn my head to the right or look up. I have to look left or done to stabilise the connection again. I don't have the same issue with my iPhone.

These are the ear buds I’ve been waiting for

Most of the time I prefer to be able to hear what’s going on around me, so I want buds that don’t close the ear canal. The type of buds that hang in the bottom of the ear, are not an option because they simply fall out of mine. All the other ear buds I have seen are held within the ear but rely on silicone tips to close off the ear canal so that the lower frequencies aren’t lost. These don’t work for me either because the openings to my ear canals are not circular - they don’t fit so they are uncomfortable, and they sound thin because the low frequencies are lost. So, LinkBuds, that fit in the ear but are not designed to fit into or close off the ear canal, meet my requirements very well. In use they work well and I would make the following comments: 1) The sound is very good although I would prefer slightly stronger lower frequencies. 2) They are light. 3) I’ve not run the batteries down, but the expected battery life is a little low 4) I’ve experienced some slight discomfort, but this is due to my ear shape. 5) I like the wide area tap. 6) Calls are clear for me and my caller. 7) I found setting up my Sony account to be rather slow. 8) I don’t much like the on-line “manual”. 9) I’ve not done anything with the app on my phone yet.

Ya llevo tres meses usándolos y me encantan, sobre todo la aplicación de sonido 360º que es totalmente inmersivo, además de no perder el sonido de tu alrededor y poder escuchar las posibles alarmas, la única pega que le pondría pero se puede vivir sin ello es el control dando golpes cerca de la oreja, pues falla bastante y si pones la opción chat y estás escuchando música, no puedes decir ni mu, ni tararear la canción, porque si lo haces se para la reproducción durante un rato. Además de su escasa batería.

Ho acquistato il prodotto da alcuni giorni. Interessante il nuovo design aperto che non affatica. Il suono, tenuto conto del tipo di auricolare aperto, è molto buono. La portabilità è ottima e non dà fastidio. Ci sono però alcune pecche che non mi sarei aspettato da Sony specialmente su un articolo non proprio economico. La principale è la mancanza di multiconnessioni. Perfino le mie precedenti cuffiette da 30 euro mi premettevano di passare dall'ascolto del TV ad effettuare telefonate senza dover spegnere e riaccendere il bluetooth. La cosa è scomodissima. Inoltre il volume è piuttosto basso. Tenendo conto che si tratta du cuffiette aperte, e quindi soggette ad inquinamento acustico, sarebbe stato meglio poter mettere un volume un po' Più alto.

Da possessore dei Airpods pro non posso che esprimere una valutazione del tutto positiva dopo un mese di utilizzo. La comodità e prestazioni sono a mio parere eccellenti e il fatto che ti dimentichi di indossarle è un bel vantaggio rispetto alla concorrenza. Ma la vera peculiarità di queste cuffie è il fatto di poter ascoltare musica senza avere dei classici 'tappi'nelle orecchie. Poter ascoltare musica insieme a quello che ci circonda mentre si cammina o si corre ma in modo del tutto naturale senza l'intervento di algoritmi è veramente un bel vantaggio. Brava Sony.

The worst earphones I have bought.

They are uncomfortable in my ears and extremely painful to put in or touch when in. This might just be my ears, but ouch. They are really fiddly to fit with the bigger loops on, but fall out anyway when I eat. Don't think you can wiggle them about to make them feel more secure or for a better fit while they are playing either, you will activate some control so they can skip a track or cut off completely. Aaargh! I got them so I can be more connected, and for this they work, but high volume is not high enough and those without great hearing will struggle to have a conversation when they are in. The sound quality is not better than much cheaper ones. I think I should have gone for noise cancelling and external sound enhancement, but because they are earphones it looks like there is a no return policy so I am hoping I just lose one and have to bin them. I'm not rich enough to just stick them in a draw.

Great idea, still needs refining

Bought these when they first launched, they are comfortable to wear and the sound quality is excellent. However, the software needs refining as they have a tendency to stop playing if you for example sneeze, I also found whilst they would be ideal when out riding my bike given the design lets you hear ambient noises around you, they would stop playing due to wind noise. I still feel there is very good potential with these as they just need a few minor issues addressed.

Small, feather light, comfortable with great sound

The first thing I noticed was the size, they are half the size of any of my previous pairs of in-ear buds and a lot lighter. They fit in the ear slightly differently to previous units, bit of a twist, then once in, they are very secure. Whether it is a brisk walk or doing the gardening I never felt they were going to drop out. Connecting to my phone was instant, can’t fault. The sound quality is exceptional for such a small unit, good depth of bass and crystal-clear high notes. I have an eclectic taste in music and enjoyed putting my new LinkBuds through their paces. Classical (1812 overture, Tchaikovsky), rock (Queen and Pink Floyd), electro (Kraftwerk and Daft Punk) all sounded great. The cannons in the 1812th sounded like they were behind me. All together a great experience. Using the touch and speech controls was simple and straight forward. Playing music was simple with all the usual actions you would expect (See specs for details) and receiving and answering calls whilst listening to music was quick and easy. The controls can be configured through the phone app which I think is essential if you want to get the best out of them. I think the favourite part of these LinkBuds for me, is the slightly different way they fit in the ear, for me, comfier and far more secure. My best buds yet.

I've spent a good 2 months with my Sony LinkBuds, and even now, they're a difficult novelty to review. I was attracted by the idea of being able to hear my surroundings (and the doorbell!) whilst working, converse with colleagues in the office, and simply be aware and present of the world around me when outside, all whilst having my earphones in, and they do certainly deliver on these fronts. Their downside that there a few situations where I’d prefer the world to be blocked out, like when commuting, or in a loud office, or even just walking in an area with heavy traffic, but the hole in each bud means this noise will be let in too. In a quieter environment, music comes through with a good level of detail but lacks the kick that come with earbuds which create a seal. The result is that I enjoy listening to music with my LinkBuds but I will typically reach for a pair of phones which block background noise. The quality of the sound will diminish the greater the background noise in your environment, and I would discount these headphones if your focus is on optimising your listening experience. Voices come through really nice and clear on podcasts and in calls, and have a very natural sound. Unfortunately, I would need to give up trying to listen to podcasts when on a particularly noisy commute like the underground. They are light weight and the fit is unique which helps if you intend to wear them for long periods of time. Instead of being jammed into the ear canal, they are secured in place by the top and bottom of your inner ear, and Sony provide difference size tips to fit different ear sizes. For me, the buds would become uncomfortable after wearing them for a few hours no matter which tip I used, but eventually, I learned to position them in a way that worked for me (and my ears simply became accustomed to the presence of the buds after a while) and I would now say they are comfy. I can’t say it was an immediate match made in heaven as some others have found, though, as it took a breaking in period. They are comfy enough, in fact, to be in my ears most of the time in a typical working day. They last a good 5 hours without needing to be in their case, and whilst a longer battery life would be ideal, I can't say it's ever been an issue. They are perfect for working from home and still feeling connected to the real world around you. I would, however, warn you that they may not be perfect for a noisy office, as your virtual colleagues will be competing with those next to you for your attention, which can cause you a bit of strain. They would still suit a quieter office nicely though. To close, I feel like this device is situational, and they will suit someone who has a specific practical use case in mind rather than the individual looking for the next best experience of general use headphones. Personally, I really do enjoy using them and will continue to do so, but if I was making my purchasing decision again with the benefit of hindsight, I’d probably go for the more conventional Linkbuds S (or similar device from other brands) that give you the choice of either letting the world in or blocking it out as the situation demands.

Love these nice fit waterproof and good sound quality. I love the size of the charging case fits into an already full bumbag with ease! Got 2 pairs so while one is charging in it’s case I simply put the second pair on well done Sony! Peace Salome!

Great pair of discrete earbuds

I bought this a couple weeks ago for whilst I'm at work. The earbuds are discrete, easily concealed behind hair. The selling point is met, they do not obstruct hearing. Do keep in mind that you will still be fractional y less aware depending on what you are listening to (e.g music Vs learning a language) The best feature by far is the talk to speech, stopping music whilst you talk and then automatically resuming. The wide area tap is a cool feature that is straight out of the future. The buds are reasonably comfortable, but I did find my ear mildly sore after prolonged (6+h ) use. This is not really and issue. I do get the odd bug with Bluetooth, but this may be due to the age of my phone and not the headphones. In conclusion would definitely recommend if you need to be able to pay attention to people on a regular basis
