Unable control Home Cinema system(BDV-E280) using iPhone remote app

I have home cinema system BDV-E280, trying to access the system using my iPhone Media Remote app. But unfortunately this model is not yet upgraded to be control via iPhone app. Is my understanding correct? If so can I know when this model will be upgraded?

    I hope this model is updated soon, using the buttoned IR remote is painfully slow and difficult.
